Izyyk (pronounced eye-zic) Social Club of Canyon Lake, TX creates events like happy hours, dinners, and more for people aged forty and up to meet new people and make new friends. The organization’s mission to enable new connections through fun, easy events at a stage of life that is often lonely as individuals experience empty nests, divorce / loss of partners, and caring for their own aging parents, accompanied by few opportunities for social activities.

Even if you are none of these things, you’re welcome to join the club and then register for an upcoming event! The club is open to anyone age 40+ interested in fun times with new friendship opportunities. Our vision is that people over forty will easily organize fun events to meet new people locally and when traveling, creating friendships that will enhance the quality of their lives for years to come.

You can sign up for an annual membership and be assured that in more ways that one, membership pays for itself! As long as you register for and attend at least four events throughout the term of your membership, you’ll earn back the cost of your membership.

People who join Izyyk Social Club have more fun and make more friends when they attend regularly. We don’t want you to sign up for a membership and stay home anyway; that’s not the way it works!

To encourage folks to “get out there” and join us more frequently, you will earn a $25 credit for every event you attend, up to four events, during your annual membership. The credit can be used for attendance at our enhanced events or for your membership dues for the upcoming year.

They are easy and fun ways to meet new people, typically consisting of dinner, drinks, and chatting with other locals. We also plan other events from time to time, like live music, movies, festivals, and more! Every person meets every person at every event, so there are no worries about attending an event and not engaging with others or feeling left out of conversations.

You are not required to attend any particular event – just choose those that appeal to you on our Events page. Keep in mind that making new friends is easier when you see the same people frequently, so attending many events builds more connections than attending only occasionally.

Restaurants at which events are held are generally mid-to-upscale sit-down, locally owned restaurants in and around Canyon Lake, TX, Most offer a full bar, appetizers, small plates, appetizers, and desserts.

A purchase is required when attending Izyyk Social Club events so we can maintain good relationships with restauranteurs and occasionally leverage those relationships into benefits, such as tasting events and wine pairings, for our members.

Anyone who is willing to travel to Canyon Lake, New Braunfels, Fredericksburg, Bulverde, Spring Branch, Wimberly, and other areas of the beautiful Texas Hill Country and wants to make new friends and build social connections is welcome to join Izyyk Social Club.

Izyyk Social Club events are held at least once every 7-14 days. You are encouraged to sign up early and attend as many events as you like! Typically, 10-12 friendly people attend each event, although we occasionally hold events with larger groups.

Purchases made at events are the responsibility of each attendee.

Of course! We love meeting new people. Each attendee is required to have a membership.

Due to logistical difficulties associated with participants who cancel or no-show, either of these will result in a charge of $25 that is required to maintain your membership. Arriving more than 10 minutes late for an event counts as a no-show, as many restaurants will not seat our party until all attendees have arrived. Please mark your calendars and allow plenty of time to arrive on time at events for which you register; the success of the club depends on participant engagement. 

Our events are for nothing more than meeting new people while enjoying good food and drinks. Please be aware that anyone who subjects another participant to unwelcome attention, sales efforts, business opportunities, or anything other than pleasant socializing will be asked to leave the event with no refund and not return.
